Welcome. If you are reading my 'jane brocket' blog this is the second incarnation of 'yarnstorm' which I started writing in 2005. If you are reading 'winestorm', this is my new wine blog which I began in early 2012.
I have been writing books for five years now, but before that I was in the wine trade (and a Master of Wine since 1992). I am the author of:
The Gentle Art of Domesticity (2007)
Cherry Cake and Ginger Beer (2008)
Ripping Things To Do (2009)
The Gentle Art of Quilt-Making (2010)
The Gentle Art of Knitting (2011)
I am writing a 'Jane Brocket's Clever Concepts' series of books for children published by Millbrook Press in Minneapolis. So far this includes:
Spiky, Slimy, Smooth: What is Texture? (2011)
Ruby, Violet, Lime: Looking for Color (2011)
Spotty, Stripy, Swirly: What are Patterns? (2012)
I have three books appearing later in 2012, one on cakes, one on stitching, and one on shapes.
I live with my husband, Simon, in Berkshire. We have three children: Tom is at university, Alice is taking a gap year, and Phoebe goes to school but wishes she didn't have to.
