...cake photo for a while. Until I change my mind, that is.
Simon bought this cake tin for Phoebe for her birthday so she had to put it to immediate use. Being something of a perfectionist (see post below), she wasn't happy with the first version which was far too small in her opinion.
She also felt it was a mistake to use chocolate fudge icing for reasons that were visually clear but don't need to be explained (even though it tasted great). So she made a second cake and decorated it with jelly bean candles and wickedly pink icing, and all was well.
And the happy outcome is that we won't be needing much cake for a while.
Oh, I love it. I saw a cake pan just like that in the store a couple of months ago and was thinking about getting it as with two girls we will surely have plenty of occasions to have massive cup cake cakes. Phoebe's looks fantastic, I love the jelly bean candles, it's the perfect finishing touch.

Ha ha, sometimes chocolate goods can look a little bit...dodgy. The pink on this looks fantastic though - is the frosting flavoured? (I'm imagining raspverry icing with whole raspberries in the sponge.)

I saw this pan, too -- in London! Another mother and I took a 4-day weekend trip to London, and I will admit that we used YOUR book like other people might use Rick Steve's or Fodors. :-) Giving you credit, of course, at every stop. All the shops you list have such FRIENDLY employees!!! So, thank you - thank you - Mrs. Jane Brocket, once again, for that amazing Domesticity book.....
Also -- I think you and your family are allowed AS MANY CAKES as you like, after coming through the summer you've had!! I'm thrilled that everything is good now.... :-)...and that really IS a beautiful cake up above. Better than the box picture, even!

I have got the lakeland tin mamma chef described, it’s very good. The smallest the cakes. Try your local bakery, they may hire out their tins, I know the one in my mums village does.
Best Regards,

One of my delightful friends bought me this tin for my birthday on the weekend! I can see I'm in good company, if Phoebe's baking with one! :)
