I take all my photos with a Fujifilm FinePix F30, in natural light and without any extra equipment (except when I use a large sheet of watercolour paper to cut out direct light). I don't Photoshop or alter my photos in any way, and the only adjustment I make is when/if I crop them.
I realize that although my mother taught me to make cakes very young, we only had them for birthdays and there was never candy or anything "frivolous" in the house where I could have even contemplated something like this. She was good at watching pennies and didn't want us to get fat, so candy was not something we had in our house.
However, when I got older (maybe college age) and had my own money, they came out with those stickers-by-the-yard and I would use them on envelopes and anything else that would work. I applied them much like the little candies on that cake.
I must remember to come back to this post next year when planning my E's birthday. She will be thrilled if I can make something half as festive and beautiful as this. Congratulations, P!
Yum! Bet I know where your other words are going!

I do love Phoebe's cakes. At least I assume it is Phoebe who is the P. Am struggling with E though.
I saw some great sweets when I was in Spain and thought of you and Phoebe and your cake decorating.

Wonderfully colourful, just the kind of cake one needs for a birthday at the birth of Spring.

I love the color and enthusiasm in it.
