cherries on the cake
Hello again.
I still can't say a great deal about my new projects but I am happily working hard on several of them already.
One of them, though, has come to fruition at last. For a few months now, I've been busy with Rob at ph9 putting together a website, and today it goes out into the big, wide, world-wide web. It's at janebrocket.com (there's another link on the sidebar) and I think Rob has done an absolutely brilliant design job and, as it comes with an ultra-simple website management system that even I can use, it will be updated regularly. Have a look and you'll see all the things I enjoy writing about, plus some background information, news and favourite recipes.
I hope you like it, too.

We had a journalist and photographer from a major newspaper here at the weekend, and the above is just one of the shots of leftovers. (I'll mention the paper & date of the article when it's fully confirmed.) I baked and baked and baked, and talked and talked and talked. The sun shone, Alice's eclairs were a triumph, and Phoebe's meringues as soft as sugary little clouds. Alice also decorated the cherry cake I'd made with a very definite cherry statement. And I thought how all this - the books, the writing, the making and baking, and the sheer enjoyment of my work - are all the cherries on the icing on cake of life for me. I'm making sure I enjoy it while it lasts.

The website is wonderful - so beautifully designed - just like your first book. Congratulations!
P.s.Just been and pre-ordered Cherry Cake and Ginger Beer.

Your posts and photos are always such a refreshing delight. Sometimes, the more I look at the sweets on your blog, the less I want them in reality because on the blog they always look better than what I can find locally.
Website looks awesome, too

So glad it's not telly - we don't need another nigella ;) if indeed we needed the first! What we do need is down to earth enjoyment of life and that's what you inspire in all of us. Just pre-ordered the book too.

Like it? I love it! It's a beautiful representation of the " yarnstorm you" we know and love Jane. And it's lovely to see the cover of Cherry Cake and Ginger Beer (especially because it includes one of my all-time favourite literary characters, MMM herself!).

dear jane, hello from canada! i've been reading and looking through your posts throughout the day and have been reveling in the deliciousness of the colours, the bouquets of tulips, the sugary sweet cupcakes, and stacks of books. doing this while listening to jakob dylan's new album, which was released this morning! i thought it might be something you would like. for a preview listen to it all, try out: http://www.myspace.com/jakobdylan xoxox

I can't tell you how excited I am about receiving my very own copy of 'Cherry Cake & Ginger Beer'! Your writing frequently inspires me to pop on my vintage frilly apron and get cooking! (And, although it's 7.30pm, I might just go and make a cherry cake myself!)
Can't wait to hear more about your future projects! (And congrats on the website :)
