I fell hook, line and sinker for this 'Delphinium' print by Philip Jacobs and I love it even more after a few days working with it. It reminds me of cottage garden embroideries and the wild and wonderful wallpapers of the 1930s. Like many fabrics with large repeats, it begs to be used in vertical columns that show off the length of the pattern which can then be enjoyed in all its summer-garden glory. So that is what I have done.
I think I know exactly where you are going with this one.
It reminds me of either a nightie my mum used to wear, of a duvet cover, both from the seventies.
Look forward to seeing what you do with it x

Oooh I love it Jane, delphiniums are a favourite of mine. I cannot resist a cottage style garden, much as I am momentarily drawn to some of those fashionable, contemporary, architectural gardens, a good old cottage style garden with its borders overflowing with untidy blooms will win my heart every time.

Gorgeous color combos; it makes me want to go and get some new fabrics for myself. Too bad I am in a stash busting year.

I am finding myself drawn to large all over prints for my quilts these days. I think Kaffe has been an influence in that area. I can't wait to see what you have done with this one. Hoping it will be in your book.
