As the clocks go back I need all the brightness and sunshine I can get to lighten up my day. This amazing dahlia (about 6" in diameter) is shining outside my study window. I half expect it to go on like a lamp when it gets dark far too early tonight.
WOW. That is a beautiful, beautiful flower.

It is gorgeous, so bright and cheery. Our clocks go back next week, not really looking forward to it being dark before five. I just ordered your two latest books and cannot wait for them to get here, it was a belated birthday present, I'm so excited. Hope you have a great rest of the weekend.

I always associate dahlias with my Lancashire childhood.Dahlias growing in small gardens in front of terraced houses. The colours were always so bright and vivid.I must try and grow some next year.

This makes me smile, as do all your dahlia-related posts. I wish i had a garden... or at least a window box!

A very impressive flower but I am now sitting here reminiscing about the Queen Mother's hat collection...

Sunshine in flower form. I flip between loving cosy nights in and longing for light and I always forget that it's going to go dark so early for the first few days. It makes me forget to put the chickens in.

I wonder if this flower will "fall back" with the clocks on Saturday... I hope it goes on longer. It is a beauty.
