On a walk today I found this lovely resting spot at a bend in the river. It may not be the most preposessing blue bench in the world, but it is perfectly in keeping with its surroundings, especially when the sky and river are the same colour.
This is a beautiful stretch of the river at Runnymede with the Magna Carta Tea Rooms in one of these Lutyens-designed lodges (run through the NT photos to see them) where you can get a fine cup of tea, a slice of Victoria Sponge Cake and an outdated copy of Hello! (with photos of various locals) to read while you recover from the walk and the weight of history.
Oh I LOVE Runnymede!!! We go there everytime we're in the UK!!!

Good Sunday morning from Dallas, Texas. Oh how I would love to be sitting on that blue bench enjoying that gorgeous view. It has been balmy this week but thunderstorms are in store for us later today with lower temps. Thank you for the visual treat. Thoroughly enjoying the book Delight that you recommended.

It looks like a wonderful spot to wile away the afternoon. Beautiful view, all we've got here now is more snow. Don't get me wrong, I love snow, but it's been snowing on and off for months now, I feel like it should be Christmas soon already. Sounds like a wonderful day you had, love that the bench is blue.

I love the colours in this photo. We had a similarly bright blue sky in Edinburgh today. I truly love this time of year. A x

Jane,
Your eye for color breathes FUN! Colorists salute you!

Blue is the best color of all (or so I think!) And a warm thank you, Jane, from down here in Melbourne for introducing me inadvertently via a photo in your Gentle Art book to the wonderful Clover crochet hook with the "gold" hook and super comfortable handle - I am using my 3.75mm hook right now to "bust my stash" as they say with nine-row Grannies (even tho it's really hot!)

Sounds like a lovely place. It's not that far from where I am and I have never been there. Maybe I should add it to the evergrowing list of places to go. The tea room sounds tempting!

Anywhere with tea room gets my vote, but a such a terrific blue sky is a real bonus.

I enjoy pictures of your local area. I was there about three years ago and it is a lovely place. I hope to go back someday.
