Perhaps we should wish for life to be a bed of crocuses?
The Savill Garden this week. The crocuses (Crocus tomasianus) precede the daffodils in Daffodil Valley and they are followed by the snakeshead fritillaries, which means I have plenty of good reasons to visit frequently in the weeks to come. I'd hate to miss another sight like this.
Am a late discoverer of your blog, and love everything (being a passionate collector of books, needlework, fabrics and recipes)! perhaps you might enjoy my discoveries for home & crafts on my blog at TrendPulse.net

I love crocus - they're such an uplifting sight - except when they're all soggy and bedraggled when it's rained.
For some reason I don't seem to be able to get them to grow in my garden...not sure why.

Yes, always thought a bed of roses might be a tad uncomfy!

I have a neighbour whose garden springs into spring-life with a huge bed stuffed with crocusi (?). I know that winter is over when I walk my daughter to school and catch a glimpse of them over the wall.

Now March is almost at an end, lets hope it doesn't leave like a lion and flatten all the flowrs!

Wow. that's lovely. I've never seen a full field of crocus before, just the little clumps of them.

Am in love with your carpet of purple!
I do love crocuses--I try to enjoy them as much as possible because they disappear so quickly!

And thanks for the reminder, too, to get out and rake the leaves out of my front garden before my own crocuses started poking their little heads through (they seem to be late this year.)

Gorgeous flowers! Here in northern California the sweet peas and wistaria have started - lots of purple beauty all over!

An uplifting sight. I, too, am enchanted with spring bulbs delighting in their sudden appea.rance after a long cloudy winter here in Ohio.
