So lovely to have a chance to comment and, hopefully without sounding too schmaltzy, I'd like to say a big thank you to you and your blog. Ever since I heard a review of The Gentle Art of Domesticity on Radio 4 several years ago I have rekindled my love of all things woolly and, with the support of this wonderful blogging community, have never looked back. Here's to you and your family having a wonderful New Year x Jane

Fantastic photos as usual - you are very good at spotting quirky details. Do tell where you saw the holy loo sign? (I'm from Aberdeen!) Happy New Year to you and please keep on blogging in 2014. Susan

I love your blog and have been enjoying it for years.
Nice to see Norwich on there as that's where I live - is the window on Elm Hill?
Happy New Year.

always such a joy to read you Jane Brocket. I especially love it that sometimes you are a grump and you don't care.

Dear Jane, happy new year! Thank you for continuing to write and share your beautiful (and sometimes funny) photos. It is always such a pleasure to visit your blog and you continue to entertain, amuse and inspire me. I'll look forward to the guide book, even for armchair travel purposes! Best wishes, Catherine

Thank you so much, Jane, for sharing such great photos and writings with all us out here. Looking forward to more from you in 2014.
Happy New Year to you and your family.

Happy new year Jane. I hope 2014 is a marvellous one for the Brockets.

Happy New Year, Jane, and many thanks for allowing us the pleasure of reading your blog and seeing your pictures. This Californian loves the glimpses of England on your site.

Would Northampton be worth a visit in 2014 I sort of feel it must have hidden gems as it is never celebrated and is quietly waiting?

Happy New Year to you too. I am a 'fan' though hate the word, but someone who appreciates your sense of colour and your creativity, I use your books all the time. I also love to read your blog, though don't comment much, if at all.
I also thoroughly enjoy your blog, and the trouble you go to to create such an interesting one. So thank you.

Jane. It is always a huge pleasure to see what you have been thinking about and how your thought processes are developing with your new ideas. Thank you for all your hard work in helping the lives of other be a little bit better because of your work on the blog. It is much appreciated. Have a happy, peaceful and healthy 2014.

Happy 2014! I always enjoy your blog, your photos, your books. I haven't been reading for 10 years, but almost.....

Yet more fab glimpses at the wonderfully quirky things you notice! Thanks for continuing to share your life with us - I always enjoy hearing about your family, your adventures and your travels, and seeing your domestic talents, which are so amazingly varied! I look forward to seeing more in 2014.

Thanks for enabling comments. And many thanks for an always thoughtful and beautiful blog- I particularly appreciate the chance to share in your eye for great details. A happy new year to you and all other readers.

Absolutely entranced here in northern California - Happy 2014!

Thank you for sharing your provincial tour! As a very longtime American reader, I gobble up your pictures and long to visit these beautiful places that you describe so well. Happy 2014! :)

Happy New Year! Loving the Leeds owls (it's my hometown) and the beach huts in Hove are so cute, reminds we how long it is since we last went!

I enjoy your blog so much and only wish I were closer (than Northern California) to visit all these lovely sites.
